By far the most scenic way to travel the Outer Banks... First and foremost, pilot Larry Ihle is extremely safe and very capable up in the air. You'll feel confident that after he does all of his pre-flight checks that you'll have a good ride.
Second, the views are marvelous. You can either be at ground level with the other family trucksters, or you can see the extraordinary view from above in a very comfortable whirlybird that seats 3 plus pilot. On our trip we saw several light houses, a huge sea turtle, the Wright Bro's Memorial, the famous Rodanthe house, and miles of ocean and sand. Just beautiful and such a unique experience to share with my wife!

Thank you so much for the flight around the Outer Banks last Saturday. As a retired military helicopter pilot, this special birthday present from my wife was made even more special because we felt like we were not just your customers, but that we were flying with good friends. We had a lot of fun laughing and sharing stories with both of you, and we appreciated you going the extra mile by making sure we had good views of the lighthouses and the wild horses. It had been almost 20 years to the day since I had been in a helicopter, and the flight with you brought back lots of enjoyable memories. My wife and I wish both of you the very best in all you do, and for the rest of our lives we will both fondly remember the day we flew with our friends at Coastal Helicopters.

I've never been in a helicopter, and when we lifted off it was the most amazing feeling. It was so powerful to move in space in this different way, and to see my beloved Outer Banks from above. My whole family (aged 4-45) found the trip to be exciting and unforgettable.

Hi Larry, I found your card today and realized that I had never written to thank you for that wonderful birthday helicopter ride. I am the Methodist minister whose daughter Holly surprised me with the flight. I had never been in a helicopter before and had always wanted to fly in one. What a dream come true. This was my first helicopter ride and it was a great experience! Larry was our pilot who showed us a lot of cool stuff. We flew over the area of Roanoke, Nags Head and Kitty Hawk. We got a great view of the Wrights Brothers monument and park. We also flew over the ocean and got to see dolphin, skates and schools of fish. This was an amazing experience for me and my family. We felt welcome with the staff, who were knowledgeable and friendly. I loved my helicopter adventure and I highly recommend this to anyone who would enjoy an unforgettable view of the Outer Banks!

Thank you to Pilot Larry, his wife and Coastal Helicopters for the trip/flight of a lifetime for my 15 year old triplets. Larry was beyond kind and informative during their flight and the loved every second of their flight and the fact they got to "take off" twice :)
The location of Coastal Helicopters in spectacular in itself to watch the bi-planes and helicopters take off and land and the see the ear to ear smiles.

30 MINUTES OF BLISS!
The helicopter tour was unforgettable and so much fun. The pilot Larry and his wife Steph
are super people and Larry is a professional, excellent pilot with 30 years of experience.
The doors were removed from the helicopter so we could take pictures without the glare of windows! It was fantastic. We can't wait to do a different tour with them on our next visit to Outer Banks.
