| Do I need reservations?
Reservations are the best way to guarantee a flight, but are not mandatory...walk-ins are welcome! To make your reservation, call us at 252-475-4354. We'll need your name, the number of passengers and their approximate weights, the day and time you'd like to fly and which trip you'd like to go on. We also take a credit card number and expiration date to hold your time for you, and reserve the right to charge a $25 'No Show' fee if you don't cancel your flight within 24 hours of flight time.
What are your operating hours?
We fly seven days a week, sunrise to sunset, year round. Please keep in mind that all flights are weather permitting. It is generally a good idea to schedule your flight early during your stay if possible, in case it needs to be rescheduled for any reason.
Where are you located?
We operate out of Dare County Regional Airport, 410 Airport Road, Manteo, NC. Our office is located in the airport terminal building, just past the North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island. See 'Tour Pricing' page for directions.
Are we allowed to take pictures or video from the helicopter?
Absolutely, this is one of the things we encourage the most! You'll experience an unparalleled view from every seat in the helicopter; it is the perfect platform for photos and video.
Can we customize our air tour?
Yes, if you have a specific sight or location in mind, such as your house or cottage, just let us know where you'd like to go... we can accommodate most requests providing it's within your flight time.
Is there a weight limit?
Yes, we have a limit of 285 lbs. per seat. We do ask your weight on the phone, so please don't be bashful! Seating arrangement may be determined by the pilot based on passenger weights as dictated by 'Weight and Balance' requirements.
How many passengers can you take at a time?
We can take up to three passengers at a time. Sorry, children cannot be placed on your lap during a flight.
I have a large group, can you accommodate us?
Yes, we do large groups all the time! It only takes a few minutes to load and unload passengers, and the Manteo Airport terminal is a great place to wait...either in the rocking chairs on the back porch watching the planes come and go, or inside the air-conditioned terminal building with plenty of comfortable seating, cable tv and vending machines.
Will I experience motion sickness?
Not likely. Our air-conditioned Robinson R-44 offers an ultra smooth ride, similar to riding in a car.
Can you accommodate someone with a physical disability?
Yes, we would be happy to assist you into and out of the helicopter.
Do you offer gift certificates?
We have beautiful gift certificates that we customize for each occasion. They make the most unique gift for birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, weddings, or any special holiday! These are also available at the last minute, just give us a call and we can usually email you one right away.
